Managing impacts of Change
Impacts sit at the very centre of a change. There is no change without impacts. What differs from change to change, is the type of impact, where it will occur, when it will hit and how big or challenging it will be.
Many change analysts, spend an inordinate amount of time filling in spreadsheets dedicated to mapping and analysing impacts.
The great news is - you don't have to do this.
The bad news is - you must take the time to think through the impacts of your change and create a plan to get people ready for their impact. This is not something you can ignore. For each impact you haven't planned for will create a ripple effect across the organisation, creating disruption, noise and distraction from the success of your change.
